The Kiowa Fire Protection District Board of Directors and Fire Chief pride themselves on being responsible custodians of the taxpayers' dollars. The District works hard to ensure maximum public trust.
The District builds a budget at the end of each calendar year to provide a forecast of how the taxpayer's money will be spent. It includes a breakdown of operational costs ranging from staffing, to fire apparatus maintenance.
The District regularly contracts with an unbiased third party firm to perform financial audits. The District consistently scores exceptionally well on these reports. These audits are typically done in the middle of the year and review the financial transactions of the previous calendar year (e.g. 2023's audit was completed mid-2024).
