The Kiowa Fire Protection District Board of Directors is seeking applications to fill a vacancy for a Director position on the Board. The position will be filled by appointment following the review of submitted applications and interviews.
Persons interested in serving on the Fire District Board may fill out an application (Please click this link). Applications must be returned by 5:00 pm, November 5, 2024 to Geri Scheidt, PO Box 321, Kiowa, CO 80117 or email to g.scheidt@kiowacofpd.gov. Once appointed, the newest member will serve until May 2025. To apply, interested parties must be a registered voter of the State of Colorado and reside within the Kiowa Fire Protection District and/or a person who is obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase taxable property within the District boundaries.
The Kiowa Fire Protection District consists of five (5) at large board members. The Board acts as the legislative branch of the government, as well as its policy-making body. The Board also oversees the District’s goals, major projects and improvements ranging from growth in the District, land use proposals, strategic planning and finances.
The Kiowa Fire Protection District Board meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm.
